The difference between chip capacitor dielectric X5R and X7R

Time:2018-11-05

X5R/X7R type dielectric chip capacitors are temperature-stable capacitors widely used in the industry and belong to type II dielectric materials. With a medium dielectric constant, the content value change rate within the range of operating temperature (-55℃~+125℃/+85℃) is within ±15%, and the capacitance value aging rate is 1!

The performance and performance of the capacitors of these two dielectrics in the operating temperature range are very similar, including the achievable capacitance, error, packaging, etc., so we often put these two dielectric materials in common capacitors. Together.

Having said that all the materials are almost the same, what is the difference between these two materials? The only difference is the difference in the operating temperature range. The operating temperature range of the X5R medium is -55℃~+85℃, and the operating temperature range of the X7R medium is: -55℃~+125℃. The upper working temperature of the two is different. The temperature range of the chip capacitors made of X7R material is wider, and such a difference also causes their application range to be very different.

The main application products of X5R material chip capacitors are: MID, Netcom, telecommunications and consumer electronics products that require relatively low operating temperature. The main application products of X7R material chip capacitors are: power supplies, LEDs, UPS, automotive electronic products and other products that require relatively high operating temperature.
