According to industry chain sources, preparations for Kirin 990 have already begun, and Kirin 990 is currently undergoing related tests and is expected to be taped out in the first quarter of next year. It is reported that the cost of Kirin 990 test is high, and each test requires about 200 million yuan, which is a sky-high price.

As we all know, Kirin 980 is the world's first released 7nm process mobile processor, the world's first A76 architecture, equipped with 10-core GPU and dual NPU. The Kirin 990 will use TSMC's second-generation 7nm process, which is 20% higher than the first-generation transistor density, power consumption is reduced by 10%, and overall performance is improved by about 10%.
